On a family beach vacation, we were adopted by a dog we affectionately referred to as, "Remy" — after the cognac we were drinking when we met her.
She stayed with us, going in and out of our rental home by the sea, as she pleased.
She was skinny and stray, but she was gentle and sweet. Toward the end of our stay, we began worry what would happen to her and began wondering whether there might be a way to take her home.
The issue was resolved when our desperate and loving children convinced a local — a wealthy gentleman with an oceanfront home — to become her permanent human. He still calls his old dog, "Remy." She spends her days swimming in the blue water and enjoying her veranda. We remain in touch to this day.
We created our single origin coffee — Beach Dog Bali Blue — to honor this dog who touched our lives and reminded us that anyone can rescue anybody, anywhere.
